Eugene Bajema has extensive experience in the offshore industry, mainly focused on the (project) management of the design, engineering, procurement, subcontracting, installation, and commissioning in the offshore industry around the world, from coastal to ultra-deep projects. This includes New Zealand, where Eugene has now lived for almost 9 years. In the past decade Eugene has focused on various offshore wind and wave energy projects and developed a new concept for installation of offshore wind turbines. He also worked on the development of wind turbine installation (support) vessels. Eugene firmly believes that Pondera can play a crucial role in accelerating the development of renewable energy in New Zealand and thereby accelerate the transition to New Zealand Government’s 2050 vision. The current state of the development of renewable energy in New Zealand is at a perfect point for Pondera to step into the market and Eugene is keen to play a part in that.
Training and employees
Eugene has a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Most recently, he has been an independent consultant, working directly for clients, and prior to that he has worked for Allseas and Heerema, some of the most innovative offshore construction companies in the world.
